About The Job
Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting a Director, Client Growth Strategy employee. The selected individual will create and manage organizational capabilities to acquire and retain high-value client relationships. Utilizing the Bank’s corporate sales management culture, marketing capabilities, technology and data platforms, and leveraging a well-developed ability to collaborate and influence across the organization, this position identifies and leads integrated strategies for marketing effectiveness, relationship management, and assisted sales and service capabilities.
Supporting client acquisition, relationships, and retention, the position will have demonstrated capacity to work across business lines and create cohesive sales strategies and possess the ability to build deep understanding of the unique sales and relationship management needs of different client segments and the business lines that serve them. 
This position is charged with identifying go-to-market strategies and opportunities, building business cases, prioritizing and presenting findings to executive leadership, and directing strategic projects to enable growth.
Define and manage a variety of assisted-sales strategies and initiatives, with a focus on integrating sales efforts across the organization to increase productivity and encourage collaboration; act as a liaison between marketing managers and business lines to increase campaign success rates, and enhance effectiveness of the Bank’s sales and customer relationship approach.


Areas of focus:
Foster and advance go-to-market strategies across the organization
Identify high-value market and opportunity segments in collaboration with business lines
Develop prospecting strategies for targeted segments based on analysis and best practices
Develop, refine, and deploy promotion and outreach strategies to target markets
Analyze and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for go-to-market programs
Lead cross line-of-business sales effectiveness
Work with cross-functional team members, such as technology, marketing, and sales business line leader counterparts, to create, define, implement, and assess effective sales processes and/or build new capabilities that add value for business lines and clients.
Develop strategies for use by sales teams as it relates to business plans, client acquisition, partnerships, and board involvement.
Collaborate with the Learning and Professional Development team, Information Services, and other areas on new banker onboarding education centered on sales enablement and best practices, lead management, prospecting, Salesforce functionality and other related strategies to support sales teams’ revenue goals.
Partner with Human Resources, Finance, product managers, and sales line-of-business leaders on aligned performance scorecards, goals, and incentive plans.
Partner with technology and other operational support departments as needed to streamline internal processes and practices that optimize the banker and client sales/service experience.
Lead any relevant sales meetings and work groups to connect sales, technology, marketing and data capabilities with business development activities.
Optimize the Bank’s strategy, processes, and tools for acquiring and growing high-value client relationships.
Define and communicate the strategy for household growth and expanded client relationships. Direct planning for sales programs that align with client needs, marketing strategy, and business objectives. Collaborate with sales teams on business development strategies for client events, relationship reviews, onboarding, and research to assess/refine acquisition and up-selling strategies.
Identify and understand the most current tools and processes used in the field. Define and recommend organizational sales capabilities to sustain ongoing customer relationships, build effective campaigns, and foster client relationship strategies.
Collaborate with managers in Marketing and business lines on campaigns and lead generation programs. Define and determine leads, marketing qualified leads (MQLs) and sales qualified leads (SQLs). Build and maintain client acquisition and development roadmap, and partner with colleagues within Division to nurture and score leads.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree. Preferably, candidates will have 15 years of experience in financial services, including development of lead management, sales programs and delivery strategies. Master’s degree a plus.
Solid expertise in sales and understanding of financial metrics, pipeline, and program management.
Experience with customer relationship strategy and proven ability to forecast, analyze, evaluate, and recommend cross-functional sales opportunities.
Proactive and collaborative leadership skills with the ability to take a holistic view of the Bank’s integrated sales efforts.
Proven ability to conceptualize, develop and deploy integrated strategic sales campaign plans
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities that motivate large and diverse groups within and outside the company.
Experience with cross-functional communications and associated training programs. Must have strong computer skills to include presentation, database and customer relationship systems.
Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple priorities, plan, and organize. Ability to collaborate, build consensus and teams across divisions.
Capacity to formulate and implement policy and procedures. Considerable creativity and judgment required to handle various situations. Knowledge of market required.

SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires reasonable mobility in and around the work area.  Ability to use standard computer and phone systems is required

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements.
Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions.
Must be able to travel to remote company and/or client locations.
