About The Job
Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting for a Compensation and Benefits Specialist in the Human Resources Department. If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for assisting in the analysis and administration of compensation programs, including base and incentive pay. Draft and maintain job descriptions. Evaluate jobs to determine appropriate pay grades. This position also assists in salary survey participation and equity analysis. Monitor data to ensure that compensation practices adhere to regulations and current corporate compensation policies. Position will work with the performance and merit management programs and assist with employee benefits projects
Areas of focus:
Assist managers in drafting and editing job descriptions. Evaluate market benchmarks to determine appropriate exemption status, pay and level for roles.
Participate in salary and equity surveys. Analyze data to recommend any appropriate actions.
Maintain database of job descriptions, codes and market based data.
Assist with incentive program administration.
Assist managers and employees in annual performance and merit processes. Create and update job aids for these processes
Monitor data to ensure employee pay information is equitable and meets regulations.
Assist with benefits related tasks which may include leave administration and system monitoring.
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience with writing and evaluating job descriptions is preferred. Prior participation in salary surveys and a college degree in Human Resources or a Business related field is preferred.
Experience evaluating data for consistency and adherence to regulations and polies is helpful. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required.
Proficiency in excel, in addition to using benchmarking, and HRIS systems is needed.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal will be utilized.
The ability to assess data to provide recommendations will be used.
