About The Job

Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting for a Mortgage Appraisal Assistant in the Mortgage Department. If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for monitoring the placement and tracking of appraisal orders under occasional supervision and following established procedures.  Act as liaison between mortgage banker and appraiser


Areas of focus:


1.     Appraisal Orders

Monitors appraisal orders to ensure timely appraiser assignment.  Manually assigns orders as needed. Tracks orders to ensure contingency and due dates are met.  Follows up with appraisers for status updates.


2.     Proxy Box Monitoring

Monitors the mortgage appraisal proxy box for price changes, delays in completion, etc.  Updates appropriate parties as required.  Responds to requests in a timely manner.  Escalates reconsideration requests to Residential Staff Appraiser.


3.     Other Responsibilities

Assists Residential Staff Appraiser as requested.


Required Skills:

1.     High School diploma.  Previous mortgage and/or appraisal experience preferred but not necessary. 1-2 years of customer service or administrative experience is preferred.

2.     Analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

3.     Ability to use standard office equipment, personal computer software for spreadsheets and word processing is required.

4.     Appropriate interpersonal and telephone skills are needed to maintain positive rapport throughout the organization.

5.     Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks and work under pressure.
