About The Job:
Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting a Mortgage Loan Processor in the Mortgage Department. If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for following the established procedures, evaluating all information supplied on conventional and government residential loan applications. In addition, the ability to successfully manage an active pipeline of 20-25 loans closing 15-20 per month.

Areas of focus:
Represents the Bank to clients in a courteous, professional manner, and provides prompt, efficient, and accurate service in person, by phone, or through mail.

Receives mortgage loan applications from Mortgage Banker and initiates processing.
Reviews advance disclosures for completeness.  Verifies credit, employment, income and liabilities according to established procedures.

Upon receipt of appraisal and title work, verifies to information provided on application.  Runs AUS as necessary.  Updates LOS to information received to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.

Completes a final evaluation and analysis of the completed application package and prepares the file for submission to underwriting, specifying any applicable conditions to the credit decision. Notifies all applicable parties of underwriting decision.

Maintains record of all loans in process and conducts weekly pipeline reviews with originator.
Prepares commitment letter to applicant.  Clears outstanding conditions. Confirms loan is scheduled for closing.  Submits file to Closing Department.

Required Skills:
1. Position requires 2-4 years’ experience with conventional and government lending.   Strong organizational skills are required to meet expected productivity standards.  Ability to communicate effectively to instruct and guide others is required.

2. Experience using personal computer systems such as spreadsheet and database applications is required.  Knowledge of Encompass Loan Origination Software strongly preferred.
Analytical ability is required in researching problems and providing possible solutions.

3.  Appropriate interpersonal skills needed to maintain a positive rapport with customers and co-workers.

4.  Must possess the ability to work under pressure and meet set loan closing deadlines.

5.  Experience with VHDA, MMP and DC HFA programs preferred.

6.  Work is moderately supervised by the Processing Team Leader.
