About The Job
Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting for a Mortgage Systems Manager in the Mortgage Department. If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for managing the daily activities and strategic direction of the Mortgage Systems Team and developing a deep understanding of the current operating environment, business dynamics/rhythm and unique needs of the business units in order to provide value-added support to the Mortgage Division in it technology. The Systems Manager serves as a member of the management team in the Mortgage Division and develops an understanding of the overarching business model, key business drivers and unique characteristics of the business to develop a technology strategy which supports the long term strategic objectives of the Mortgage Division.

Areas of focus: 

  • Coaches, trains, and develops the employees of the Systems Administration Team. Guide the team development of new policies and procedures, working document templates and project plans to support the new business models. Provide the final review and sign-off.Manages Systems Administration workflow and development; assigns daily workload to team members to insure workload is balanced.
  • Oversees the operations of the division’s primary loan origination system, Encompass 360.  Works with division management and functional area Team Leaders to identify business needs, selects appropriate technology solutions, and implements said solutions to maximize the workflow and operational efficiency of the division. Manages all third party integrations with the Encompass 360 system, regularly evaluates these integrations, and third party providers to maximize workflow efficiency.
  • Responsible for the vendor management processes for the Mortgage Division.  Works with the Vendor Management department to track and manage contract expirations and renegotiations.  Responsible for the onboarding of all new vendors in the Mortgage Division.
  • Manages the division’s long term technology strategy and plans.Utilizes systems and mortgage operations expertise to conduct market research, evaluate vendors, and make recommendations on appropriate technology platforms to be incorporated into the loan origination process. Responsible for the development and presentations of RFP’s as related to the aforementioned long term technology projects.
  • Liaisons with technology management to insure all mortgage systems appropriately integrate with core bank systems. Evaluates new technologies to optimize applications efficiency and performance. 
  • Identifies the need for, designs, reviews and creates user interactive analytical reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).Combine data from multiple sources to produce consolidated reports including basic graphs.  Test the reports for accuracy and conformance to requirements.  Regularly revises data analytics process to conform to changes in the business environment.
  • Creates and maintains a disaster recovery, security and backup and restore plan.
  • Leads regular training with members of the division’s sales and operations teams.
  • Documents procedures for various Mortgage applications.

Required Skills: 

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with systems management, database management, and data analytics.  Supervisory experience is desired.  Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Crystal Reports and the Encompass loan origination system is required.
  • A master’s degree in Information Technology is preferred.
  • Analytical ability is required in researching and analyzing data.  Accuracy and attention to detail are required.
