About The Job

Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting a Universal Banker.  If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for processing a variety of financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments. You will balance cash drawer, counting currency and coin accurately. You will assist customers in determining the types of account that will meet their financial needs. You will also open and process all types of deposit and loan accounts including complex retail products such as consumer loans, VISA merchant accounts, and small business loans; cross-sell other bank services and refer customers to other departments as appropriate; answer questions and/or resolve complex technical problems on customer accounts; provide exceptional client service and you will comply with all Federal, State, and local consumer protection laws governing loan origination.

Required Skills:

  • BA Degree in Finance, Business or related field or equivalent work experience in a financial institution.

  • Possess professional level of knowledge and expertise in retail banking and relationship sales

  • Have extensive knowledge of bank products and applicable Federal and state laws and regulations

  • Must be a self-starter and be comfortable interacting with external clients and centers of influence

  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines and with multiple priorities

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and follow through

  • Ability to utilize standard PC based software and phone systems

 

Specific Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility in and around the work area

Compensation:
